Evolving Network

“Evolving Network” utilizes the height of the Lemmerman Gallery to suggest that viewers are actually inside of a portion of the Embankment. The gallery walls echo the Embankment wall height, and views of what might be seen from the top of the Embankment are visible in the archways above the exhibition walls. A lacy membrane is stretched above viewers at the height of the track lighting, suggesting both the mycorrhizal network and the evolution of freight transit tracks, made up of repurposed maps and information about the Embankment’s long history.
